  • Prototyped a wireless mechatronic end effector for manufacturing assembly tasks using ESP32/C++

Carnegie Robotics - Software Engineering Intern

  • Programming control, perception, and learning systems for use in heavy field robotics.

  • Implemented an intuitive gamepad controller interface for a 6-DOF hydraulic boom.

  • Used computer vision methods and Detectron2 to build a fiducial-free object detection and localization system.

  • Configured a training and deployment system for LLMs using HuggingFace and TRL libraries.

Ekso Bionics - Mechanical Engineering Intern

  • Prototyping and Improving exoskeleton technologies for use in rehab and injury prevention.

  • Designed ergonomic harnessing for the exoskeleton using 3D printed elastomers and soft goods.

  • Integrated pressure sensors with padding prototypes to quantify device comfort.

  • Visualized pressure readings with user video to clearly display pressure data to soft goods team.

MoonRanger - Undergraduate Research

  • Developed highly engineered flight hardware for a moon rover launching in partnership with NASA.

  • Produced detailed GD&T engineering drawings for outsourced and in-house manufacturing.

  • Conducted rigorous adhesive selection testing, considering strength, thermal, and workability.

  • Created the RASS, a configurable stand used for rover assembly, shipping, and lander integration.

Buggspray - Undergraduate Research

  • Used Solidworks to design an actuated chassis with rocker suspension for an agricultural field robot.

  • Modeled FEA on chassis components and assembly to design for safety and reliability in the field.

  • Fabricating complex parts using 3-axis CNC milling and Solidworks CAM.

Supernova Hunters- UMN Astronomy

  • Programmed a convolutional neural net using Python/Tensorflow to filter false supernovae detections from telescope data

  • Expanded training data scope to improve machine classifier performance by 30%
